RECYCLING MADE EASY

All Nespresso coffee capsules are fully recycled at BEE’AH’s recycling facility in Sharjah. Using a custom-made separation machine developed by Nespresso, we are able to separate the aluminium and coffee grounds. The aluminium is reused to create new aluminium products. The leftover coffee grounds are given to GREENFIELDS Farms to use as soil to help grow produce which you can find at your local supermarkets.

How are my capsules recycled? What happens with them?

After collection, the coffee pods are taken to BEE’AH recycling facility in Sharjah to separate the aluminium & coffee grounds using our custom-made machine. This specialized machine is able to separate the aluminium & coffee grounds Using a mechanical process, the coffee is sent up on a conveyor belt and into a shredder, which opens the capsules & sends the coffee into a trommel. The trommel rotates 360’ degrees where the coffee grounds exit through gravity and all the aluminium exits out the end of the trommel. The aluminium undergoes a further recycling process at a steal smelter where it is reused to make new aluminium products. The coffee grounds are given to the GREENFIELDS Farms to use as a soil additive to improve the soil conditions in United Arab Emirates to grow produces which we buy every day. Coffee is globally accepted wet waste composting solution that uses food waste only to serve as nutrient rich soil food. The aluminium will be transformed into new products.
